Since 1990, Mr. Roehrman has designed costumes for theatre and dance companies on the West Coast from Seattle to San Diego. After receiving his MFA in Theatre from California Institute of the Arts, Mr. Roehrman served as the Resident Costume Design Assistant at the Mark Taper Forum for two consecutive seasons assisting such notable designers as Robert Blackman, Dunya Ramicova and Lydia Tanji, to name a few. For The Mark Taper Forum he designed the West Coast premiere of Death and the Maiden starring Jimmy Smits and Wanda de Jesus. He has designed numerous productions for South Coast Rep including: Private Lives, A Mess of Plays by Chris Durang, B.A.F.O., The Things You Don't Know, Pterodactyls, and So Many Words. As designer in residence for four seasons at Shakespeare Festival/LA he designed critically acclaimed productions of Romeo and Juliet, Taming of the Shrew, Othello, Twelfth Night, Comedy of Errors, and Two Gentlemen of Verona.

At Shakespeare Santa Cruz he designed costumes for productions of Pericles, King Lear and Much Ado about Nothing . He has also designed for San Diego Rep, Intiman Theatre Co., The Matrix Theatre Co, Pacific Dance Ensemble and for the innovative and internationally acclaimed choreographer Tandy Beal.
He designed costumes for Marin Theatre Company's production of 'Misalliance' for which he received a Dean Goodman Choice award and a Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Awards for excellence in theatre. Other Bay Area credits include his collaborative efforts with The Magic Theatre, San Jose Rep, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, Sacramento Theatre Co. A Traveling Jewish Theatre, and for Brava! for Women in the Arts. Recently he was named Resident Costume Designer for San Francisco Shakespeare Festival for which he has designed, A Winter’s Tale, Aladdin, Much Ado About Nothing and The Tempest.

Mr. Roehrman has been honored for his work with several DramaLogue Awards: the Dean Goodman Choice Award, a Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Awards for excellence in theatre as well as nominations from the LA Drama Critics Circle, and the Lester Horton Awards for excellence in dance. He served on the faculty of Pepperdine University as resident costume designer for theatre and opera productions, and teaching classes in theatre appreciation, makeup and costume technology. At UCLA in the Department of World Arts & Cultures he served on the faculty teaching Costume Design for Dance and costume technology. Currently he serves on the Theatre Arts Dept. faculty as Professor of Costume Design at San Francisco State University. Professional affiliations include Northern California Trustee of United Scenic Artists local 829 since 2000 and of which he has been a member since 1992. He has also served as President & Vice-President of The Bay Area Costumers' Alliance, a professional service organization, of which he has been a member since 2000.

Additionally, he teaches workshops to small groups and individuals in silk flower making techniques and operates a private atelier in San Francisco for custom work in theatre, film, industrials and private clients.
